About

Mia is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer with an exceptional versatility across genres; blending rock, classical, folk, and blues into her writing and play-style. At 7 years old, Mia took up both Drums and Piano, laying the foundation for a passionate and creative career in music, collaborating with many musicians across a range of styles.

Growing up listening to film scores, Mia showed an enthusiasm for music at an early age. By 14, she composed her first full orchestral piece, an indication of her ability to meld classical structures with contemporary sensibilities. A year later, at 15, Mia began performing in rock bands, and has now amassed over 10 years of professional playing and writing experience in anything from high-energy classic rock to dreamy acoustic folk.

Over the course of her career, Mia has played at some iconic venues. Notably, she performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, an experience that solidified her reputation as a skilled performer. As part of her work with various musicians, Mia has toured internationally. One of her most recent accomplishments includes a US tour with Blues guitarist Kaspar Berry Rapkin, an experience that solidified her career as a commended session drummer.

Alongside completing her degree in Film Music at Leeds Conservatoire, she began composing original scores for indie films. By the age of 20, Mia had already composed the music for more than a dozen indie films, earning critical acclaim for her work. Her first film score, for Birdwatching (released 2021), won the Ramsgate Film Award, establishing her music as emotionally intuitive and an essential part in each film.

In addition to her independent film work, Mia joined leading audio branding firm PHMG in 2022. Over the course of her two-year tenure, she composed a wide array of musical tracks for national and international brands. These tracks, spanning genres from country to orchestral, highlighted her exceptional ability to create bespoke soundscapes tailored to each brand’s identity.

In 2024, three of her film scores were featured in film premieres in both Manchester and London. Mia continues to expand her portfolio: she is currently working with film group Amenno on their newest project Stood up, and hopes to release a contemporary classical album in April 2025.
